AF73, AF74 and AF78 are Piezoelectric Point-Initiating Base-Detonating fuze of boresafe type, with super quick action, distant arming and self-destruction.They consist of two main parts-nose part (piezoelectric generator PEG) and bottom part (safety and detonating mechanism-SDM)
These fuzes are designed for High-Explosive Anti-Tank and High-Explosive Anti-Tank-Fragmentation Grenades.Upon impact to the target (object), the Fuze nose part initiates an electric impulse, on its turn that impulse gets transmitted to the bottom part of the Fuze and thus the Grenade gets detonated.
